AD630 is a high-precision balanced modulator/demodulator that adopts a flexible commutation structure and is provided with excellent accuracy and temperature stability by thin film resistors adjusted by laser wafers. It is used for signal balanced modulation and demodulation, synchronous detection, phase detection, orthogonal detection and phase sensitivity detection, lock-in amplification, and square wave multiplication. The on-chip resistor network provides precise closed-loop gains of ± 1 and ± 2, with an accuracy of 0.05%. These resistors can also be used to precisely configure the gain of the multiplexer: 1, 2, 3, or 4. Using external feedback to achieve high gain or complex switch feedback topologies.
AD630 is used for precision signal processing and instrumentation applications that require a wide dynamic range. When AD630 is used as a synchronous demodulator with a lock-in amplifier configuration, it can recover small signals from 100dB interference noise. Although the circuit is optimized for operating frequencies up to 1kHz, it is also useful at frequencies up to several hundred kilohertz.
